Swim Goggles Paradowski's Aqua Sphere Kaiman

Just a brief note about my goggles that I really like.  Twenty bucks at Paradowski's and well worth it.  The company is Aqua Sphere at aquasphereswim.com  and the model is Kaiman.
Great fit and water seal-very comfortable.  Thumbs up.
I'm thinking about getting one of the tight bathing suits for streamlining my 235 pound slow-body.  I'm pretty good about not being self-conscious about looking like an idiot in public, but to move to a tight swim suit is a big move for me.  Will keep you updated.
No swimming yesterday and today.  Just needed some down time.  We're expecting rain.

Swimming In Oceanside, CA Is Great

The tide was low; the ocean was washing-machine water with a two-foot chop.  I wore fins today and also some tight undershorts under my bathing suit.  Yesterday's cold was serious.  Today's cold was the same.  I did a 26 minute swim because I was trying to get the freezing finished as quickly as possible.  So, today keeps the streak alive but there are cracks in my veneer of machismo.

Thursday Swim

When I swam the Pier after work yesterday, it was the coldest that I recall.  Surfline.com still has the temp as 55 to 57 degrees. Yesterday might have been a 55 day.  One foot chop, no fins, 37 minutes, and some self-pity at eight minutes into the swim because of the cold.  I got through that and was OK until I was done.
I forgot the camera.

Epidural Status

This is my third wake-up after the epidurals and I'm still hurtin'.  Disappointed.  We'll see what plays out.  I'm hoping for better response in the near future.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day From Oceanside, CA

I'm thinking of Saint Patrick's Day today, and reminiscing a bit about grammar school when we kids considered it a big deal to wear a green, plastic derby, along with an 'Erin Go Bragh' button. I've never been to Ireland but would like to visit after retirement or before death, whichever comes first. I've been too lazy this year to prepare the corned beef and cabbage-perhaps a day late-tomorrow ...(Sunday). Other things going on today in the house. I was trying to move a Laz-E-Boy recliner from the garage to the living room-without shoes-and I got my right, big toenail squished under the spring of the chair at its base. I soaked the bleeding nail for a few hours in ice and the nail is torn completely off at the base. Ouch. I'll leave it on while it heals from underneath. It's raining outside so I'm glad no swimming required today. Happy St. Patrick's Day.
